For some of our friends abroad, today is Independence day in the U.S. and it is normally celebrated by the lighting of fireworks. Well my family got together for a big BBQ and well we didn't have any fireworks. We did have sodium electrical cable though. In case anyone was asleep during chemistry class, sodium reacts a bit violently with water. Ok, violent may be an under statement...... It explodes in a puff of eye irritating chemical plumage. So for your enjoyment attached are two movies showing the GSO family acting like fools ;-) By the way incase you were wondering why my father is using a leave blower, it's because the smoke was so thick it was whiting out the street an we were trying to avoid "Imperial Entanglements" to quote our buddy Ben Kenobi.

You will need Quicktime to view the movies, and by the way, they are side ways so you can get the true plumage effect.

Ehhh... doesn't quite compare with a sparkler bomb. That can wouldn't haven't lasted more than once with one of them. Still, noixous vapor is always a bonus. But I can get that with a six pack and a bag of peanuts.

Hey happy fourth! 12:14am and all the folks around are still going like mad. This is kind of like baghdad west up here, apparently I live in a curious "between jurisdictions" area so we have to call the one sherrif to come by to whoop ass. But I think he puts on the biggest fireworks display so no luck there.
