The string of recent attacks on major Web sites is drawing attention to the fact that few Net companies have financial safeguards to withstand prolonged service disruptions. ... "We're getting a lot of calls after the famous Yahoo problem," said Emily Freeman, senior vice president at the insurance firm Marsh Inc., which offers a policy called Net Secure that covers losses from denial-of-service attacks, computer viruses, and other security breaches.
I'm actually posting this news story not because of my interest in the protection companies are offered through this insurance policy dependent on traffic, but because I had a question about it. This was posted just today Feb 8th and I'm wondering is this has anything to do w/ the recent DoS vulnerability in Cisco, my company recent had servers down for over 12 hrs because of it (very stupid sys admin, the 12 hr down time on less than 20 server machines was ridiculous, but whatever) and I'm wondering if it's affecting that many companies, or whether this is just an article covering general attacks done by hackers.
